In a major milestone for Pakistan’s transition toward sustainable mobility, a record-breaking consignment of more than 2,000 BYD New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) has successfully docked at Karachi Port. Brought in by Mega Motor Company (MMC)—the official partner of BYD in Pakistan—this marks the largest single delivery of BYD electric cars to arrive in the country to date.
The vehicles were transported via a specialized Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) cargo vessel. Designed specifically for wheeled cargo, RoRo ships allow vehicles to be driven directly on and off the vessel, minimizing transit risk and drastically speeding up the unloading process. This landmark arrival underlines the rapidly growing consumer demand and accelerating shift toward electric mobility across Pakistan.
