PTA, Google sign MoU to strengthen child online safety in Pakistan

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has partnered with Google LLC through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a nationwide initiative promoting child online safety, digital literacy, and responsible internet use.

Program Highlights

  • Resource & Capacity Building: Equipping parents, teachers, and caregivers with practical tools and training to help children navigate the digital world safely.
  • Multilingual Content: Creating localized educational resources and tutorials in English, Urdu, and regional languages.
  • Nationwide Outreach: Conducting training sessions in educational institutions and running a public awareness campaign to reach millions of families.

  • PTA Chairman Maj. Gen. (R) Hafeez Ur Rehman emphasized that cross-sector collaboration between tech companies, government bodies, educators, and families is urgent and essential to protect youth facing increased digital exposure.
